advanced search
Your display page can be optimised for search engines through the addition of data in the 'meta data' fields that appear when you are logged in to your administration area. The data entered in these sections is used by search engines to help with the indexing of a web page.

Log on
The login option appears on the top right of every page – click this option.

A pop-up login box will appear.

Enter your username and password in the appropriate boxes then click submit.

Providing your username and password combination are correct you will be logged into the administration area with your 'home' page displayed.

Updating your feature display page meta data
You will now see a menu of options on the left side of the screen – click the option to 'Edit Details'

The Edit Details options enables you to update the meta data as well as the following:

- Company / Client Name
- Contact Details
- Website Address
- Description
- Special Offer

There are three sections of meta data:

Meta Title – This title is usually what a search engine will display in its search result pages. Try to keep your title to a maximum of 60 characters.

Meta Keywords – These are the keywords and phrases which you want the search engines to associate with your display page. Try to keep your keywords to a maximum of 750 characters.

Meta Description – This description is usually what a search engine will display in its search result pages. Try to keep your description to a maximum of 150 characters.

Avoid over-repetition of the same words within your meta data as this can be viewed as spamming by the search engines, and results in your page ranking being penalised. (Don't worry if search optimisation is a new area to you. As part of our quality review before your page 'goes live' we will check to ensure your page is appropriately optimised, and will update as appropriate.)

Once complete, click on the 'submit' button at the bottom of the page.

You will be taken to a screen that shows you your page display, with the menu of options still on the left side of the screen. From here you can choose another option to maintain other elements of your display page or log out.

Logging Out
If you have completed all the changes you wish to make log out of the system using either the log out option on the top right of the screen, or by clicking close on the menu of options on the left side of the screen.

What happens next
When you make changes to your display, your page will be placed in a quarantine for us to review prior to being made live for public view. We perform regular daily reviews of all listings in quarantine, to get your display back on view as soon as possible.

If we feel we can help you improve your display page, or if there is content we deem to be unsuitable for display on The Ad Index we will contact you.
