One of the search criteria used within The Ad Index site is that of location. You will have set up your primary location as part of entering your display page details. However, if you have multiple sites or operate in multiple areas of the country you can use this locations section to associate your business with those other geographic areas. In doing so, it will mean that your business will be returned in user search results for those additional geographies as well as the primary area entered when creating your display page.
Log on
In order to maintain your locations you need to log in to the administration area for the associated advertiser account.
The login option appears on the top right of every page – click this option.
A pop-up login box will appear.
Enter your username and password in the appropriate boxes then click submit.
Providing your username and password combination are correct you will be logged into the administration area with your 'home' page displayed.
Updating your locations
You will now see a menu of options on the left side of the screen – click the option to 'Edit Locations'
You will be shown a screen that displays the primary area with which you are associated (as entered when setting up your display page).
To add further locations click on the 'choose' button.
You will be given a drop down box from which to choose the appropriate country.
Based on the country chosen a relevant list of areas will now be displayed in the next drop down box. Select the appropriate area.
Based on the area you selected a list of cities and towns will now be displayed in the next drop down box. Select the appropriate area.
Once complete, click on the 'submit' button at the bottom of the page.
You will be taken back to the screen that shows you your current locations, with the menu of options still on the left side of the screen. You will see that for any locations other than the primary, you have the ability to 'delete' or 'change' your entry.
Click on 'change'. This will bring up a blank version of the advert details screen into which you can enter the specific contact details and service description relevant to this alternative location. This enables you to have different contact details and descriptions for each location. Once you have completed the screen, click on the 'submit' button.
You will be taken back to the screen that shows you your current locations, with the menu of options still on the left side of the screen. You will see that for any locations other than the primary, you once again have the ability to 'delete' or 'change' your entry. To change the details you have entered for a given location click on the 'change' button by the side of the appropriate location.
To amend your primary location you should go into 'edit details' from the menu of options on the left side of the screen and update the address details.
Logging Out
If you have completed all the changes you wish to make log out of the system using either the log out option on the top right of the screen, or by clicking close on the menu of options on the left side of the screen.
What happens next
When you make changes to your display, your page will be placed in a quarantine for us to review prior to being made live for public view. This is for quality review purposes, and to ensure unsuitable material is not released onto The Ad Index. We perform regular daily reviews of all listings in quarantine, to get your display back on view as soon as possible.
If we feel we can help you improve your display page, or if there is content we deem to be unsuitable for display on The Ad Index we will contact you.
