There are two levels of search available within The Ad Index. There is the regular search and the advanced search.
The regular search is available on all screens within the site on the left side of the screen. It takes the form of the list of short-cut entries and at the top a search box with two options below 'Services' and 'Location'.
The list of short-cut entries changes depending on whether you choose 'Services' or 'Location'.
If you click any of the entries on the search list, it will immediately perform a search of the site for the item you clicked. The results of the search will be displayed in a search results list.
Using the search box
If you are on the services list and type something into the Search Box, the system will try to locate a match either in the list below, or in any of underlying details. The list of short-cuts will reduce to leave only those entries showing in which a match with your entry in the search box has been located. You can now click on the remaining short-cut entry. A search will be performed and the results listed for you to view, or further filter as required.
If you are on the locations list and type something into the Search Box, the system will try to locate a match either in the list below, or in any of underlying details. The list of short-cuts will reduce to leave only those entries showing in which a match with your entry in the search box has been located. You can now click on any of short-cut entries remaining. A search will be performed and the results listed for you to view, or further filter as required.
Filtering search results
When a search has been performed and the results are listed for you to view, there is also an option to 'filter' the results further. The filters are shown at the top of the search results page. The available filters are Rating, Country, County and City.
To use the location filters you must work left to right by choosing the country first. The appropriate list of counties will then become available in the County filter. When you choose a county the appropriate list of towns and cities will become available in the City filter. With each stage the screen will refresh and the search results will reflect the filter you have just applied.
